Job summary

Stanford University is seeking a journey-level plumber/HVAC technician to perform a broad range of maintenance tasks across plumbing and HVAC systems. The role covers installation, repair, and preventive maintenance in campus facilities, including offices, libraries, residences, and labs.

You will work under general supervision and may handle two or more trades with guidance from a supervisor. A valid California driver’s license is required, with some shifts nights/weekends possible.

Qualifications

• Journey level knowledge equivalent to four years of completion in an apprentice program or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
• Four years of actual work in the plumber/HVAC trades.
• Must possess and maintain a valid California Non-commercial Class C Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform plumbing and HVAC maintenance tasks at journey level across two or more trades.
• Follow prescribed procedures and work under supervision or with lead responsibility.
• Respond to quick response calls campus-wide and perform preventive maintenance and repairs.
• Work in diverse environments including office spaces, laboratories, residences, and food prep areas.
