Job summary
Walker White Mechanical in Columbia, SC is seeking a Senior HVAC Service Technician to diagnose complex issues, repair and maintain commercial HVAC systems, and lead field service.
You will mentor junior techs, ensure safety, and deliver exceptional customer service while building long-term relationships.
Experience with chillers, RTUs, package units, and refrigeration, EPA certification, and top-notch diagnostic skills are required.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial HVAC service experience.
- Strong experience troubleshooting and repairing commercial HVAC systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of chillers, RTUs, package units, and refrigeration systems.
- Advanced diagnostic and problem-solving abilities.
- EPA Certification (Required).
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair complex HVAC issues across commercial and industrial systems.
- Service and maintain chillers, rooftop units (RTUs), package units, split systems, and associated equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance to maximize system performance and reliability.
- Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, refrigeration, and controls-related problems.
- Identify root causes and implement lasting solutions.
- Communicate findings and recommendations clearly with customers.
- Complete service documentation accurately and thoroughly.
- Maintain a strong commitment to safety and OSHA compliance.
- Support, mentor, and train junior technicians in the field.
- Represent Walker White Mechanical with professionalism and integrity at customer sites.
