One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of South Akron is seeking a Senior HVAC Service Manager to join the founding team. You’ll lead service operations, mentor technicians, and establish standards for workmanship and customer care as the location takes shape.

This full-time role requires hands-on experience, the ability to train others, and a commitment to safety. Expect seasonal on-call duties, Ohio weather, and a competitive compensation package aligned with skills.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service/repair experience.
• EPA 608 Certification required.
• Valid driver's license with a clean record.
• Strong troubleshooting and judgment under pressure.
• Comfortable working in varied spaces and weather.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ductwork.

Senior HVAC Service Manager — Founding Team Member

Location: Akron Ohio | Job Type: Full-Time | Compensation: $30-$45/hour, Based On Skills And Experience

About the Role

One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning of South Akron is a newly opened franchise location bringing trusted, national-brand HVAC service to Southern Akron and we're looking for an experienced Senior Service Technician to help us build it right from the ground up. You'll be one of our founding team members, setting the standard for craftsmanship and customer service as we grow, and mentoring the technicians and apprentices who join after you.

We're looking for someone who's not just skilled with their hands, but who takes pride in developing others.

What You'll Do

• Diagnose and repair furnaces, boilers, heat pumps, air conditioners, and ductwork on residential systems
• Handle the most complex and challenging service calls, including second-opinion and escalated diagnostics
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance, and install new HVAC equipment as needed until we grow large enough to specialize
• Mentor and coach newer technicians and apprentices — teaching diagnostic approach, technique, and professionalism, not just tasks
• Help train incoming team members on company standards, safety protocols, and customer service expectations as the location grows
• Communicate clearly with customers about system issues, repair options, and pricing
• Maintain accurate service records, including work performed and parts used
• Follow all safety protocols and local/state code requirements
• Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency service calls (seasonal, as needed)
• Keep your service vehicle stocked, organized, and well-maintained

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of hands-on HVAC service/repair experience required — we're looking for a seasoned technician, not an entry-level hire
• Demonstrated ability to train, coach, or mentor less experienced technicians
• EPA 608 Certification required
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Deep working knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, and gas systems across a wide range of equipment types and brands
• Strong troubleshooting skills, sound judgment, and the ability to make the right call under pressure
• Comfortable working in tight spaces, attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions year-round (Ohio weather included!)
• Excellent customer service and communication skills — you'll often be the face of a brand-new location in the community
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs and work on ladders/rooftops

Strongly preferred:

• NATE certification
• Ohio HVAC contractor license, or desire and ability to obtain
• Prior experience as a lead technician, trainer, or crew supervisor
• Experience with smart thermostats and modern controls
