Job summary

Walmart in Arroyo Grande, CA is seeking a Senior Supermarket Rack Refrigeration HVAC Technician with extensive experience in commercial refrigeration and HVAC maintenance. You will maintain, diagnose, and repair refrigeration systems across store facilities and respond to emergencies as part of a fast-paced team.

The role requires EPA Type I/II or Universal certification, a valid driver’s license, and strong knowledge of electrical/plumbing basics.

Qualifications

• 10 years’ experience in commercial Refrigeration HVAC maintenance
• Large Scale Rack Refrigeration Experience
• EPA Type I/II or Universal Certification for refrigerant handling
• Valid state driver’s license with clean MVR
• 18+ with HS diploma or equivalent
• 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration
• 6 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration with AAS in HVAC
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman
• 1 year in plumbing/electrical or Walmart store experience
• No major DUI/DWI/OUI in last 5 years
• No more than two moving violations in last 3 years
• No preventable accidents with CMV in last 3 years
• No serious traffic violations with CMV in last 3 years

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Walmart facility Refrigeration HVAC equipment.
• Use work orders to document repair activities and support Stores.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
• Inspect and test facilities and equipment to diagnose issues.
• Complete training to operate equipment safely.
• Follow OSHA and EPA guidelines in line with Walmart safety policy.
• Lift up to 75 pounds and work at heights frequently.
