Job summary

Florida Department of Corrections seeks a Senior Refrigeration Mechanic to install and repair HVAC, refrigeration, and food service equipment at Reception and Medical Center. You will supervise inmates and provide on-the-job training in HVAC systems.

Qualifications include a high school diploma and 1+ year HVAC experience (or 4+ years). A valid driver’s license is required. This is a non-telework, on-site role in the Maintenance Department with strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; HVAC field experience required.
• At least 1 year HVAC experience or 4+ years with training substitution.
• Valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair HVAC and refrigeration systems and food service equipment.
• Provide on-the-job training to supervised inmates.
• Maintain records on refrigerant use and perform preventive maintenance.
• Install control systems and diagnose HVAC and closed-loop problems.
• Complete reports and support Maintenance Superintendent.
