Job summary

Walmart in Salisbury, NC is seeking an HVAC/R Technician to oversee installation, commissioning, and diagnostics of refrigeration and building systems. You will lead field teams, mentor junior technicians, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while maintaining equipment performance across supermarket refrigeration units.

The role requires a strong focus on preventive maintenance, documentation, and on-call support to meet store priorities.

Qualifications

• 3 years' HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration experience.
• Or 6 years' HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration with AAS in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
• EPA Type I/II or Universal refrigerant handling certification.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid state driver’s license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems, including ductwork and control panels.
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Implements preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Manages supermarket refrigeration units and rack systems for optimal performance.
• Mentors technicians, coordinates field teams, and supports on-call coverage.
