Job summary

Sheet Metal Inc. (SMI) is a full-service mechanical contractor serving Alaska since 1972.

We are seeking an experienced HVAC Project Manager/Estimator to lead commercial mechanical projects from preconstruction to closeout, with estimating support for new opportunities. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in HVAC and mechanical construction and strong knowledge of design, installation and performance.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in commercial HVAC or mechanical construction management.
• Experience managing projects from startup through closeout.
• Experience with HVAC estimating, takeoffs, pricing and bid preparation.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and mechanical construction practices.
• Understanding of budgets, cost control, scheduling, procurement, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead HVAC and mechanical construction projects from turnover through completion and closeout, ensuring contract, design, budget, schedule and quality compliance.
• Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, field personnel and internal teams.
• Develop and manage schedules, allocate labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to meet milestones.
• Prepare and manage budgets, costs, procurement, documentation, and change orders.
