Sheet Metal Inc. (SMI) is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee its Construction Department, including HVAC and Plumbing divisions, in Anchorage. The role reports to leadership and coordinates with the Service Department to ensure project success from bid through closeout.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in commercial mechanical construction, proven leadership, and strong communication, budgeting, and scheduling skills. On-site, Anchorage-based role with competitive benefits.

Formación

• Ten (10) years of experience in commercial construction management.
• Experience overseeing multiple projects from bid to completion.
• Knowledge of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems.
• Ability to read contracts, drawings and specifications.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee operations of the Construction Department (HVAC and Plumbing).
• Lead and hold accountable all Divisional PMs and Assistant PMs.
• Set priorities and allocate resources across divisions.
• Hold regular project review meetings to track progress, risks and deadlines.
• Promote safety culture and ensure compliance with standards on all projects.
• Coordinate with Service Department for equipment startup and commissioning.
• Maintain bid calendar and ensure bid dates are met.
• Review estimates, takeoffs, pricing before bids.
• Evaluate bid opportunities for fit and risk.
• Ensure turnover from estimating to PM with scope, budget and schedule.
• Review budgets and WIP, address variances.
• Monitor schedules and resolve conflicts across divisions.
• Oversee change orders, procurement and progress billing.
• Report department performance to leadership.
• Build relationships with owners, GCs, engineers, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Escalate project issues and contract questions to the team.
• Ensure closeout procedures and warranty handoffs are completed.
