Job summary

Sterling St James Inc. in Fox Valley, WI is seeking a Senior HVAC Project Engineer – Commercial / Industrial Systems.

You will blend technical HVAC design (load calculations, boiler/chiller plant design, piping and air distribution) with direct client consultation and bid support. Reporting to the Director of Business Development, you’ll lead feasibility analyses, develop high‑level proposals, review plans for code compliance, and coordinate with sales, estimating, and fabrication teams to

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (BSME), PE, or State-Licensed HVAC Designer.
3+ years of hands-on commercial/industrial HVAC design experience.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, HVAC load software, and Excel.
Excellent client-facing presentation skills and ability to collaborate with executives, facilities managers and vendors.
Valid driver's license and ability to perform site walks within ~1 hour of Fox Valley, WI.

Responsibilities

Scope & Feasibility Analysis: assess inquiries and site requirements and propose HVAC solutions.
System Engineering & Design: design HVAC systems for commercial/industrial facilities including plants and offices.
Engineering Calculations: perform load calculations, air distribution sizing, piping layouts, and boiler/chiller design.
Bid Support & Modeling: develop schematic designs and CAD/Revit models for estimating costs.
Client Presentation & Scope Drafting: draft proposals and present concepts to owners and general contractors.
Plan Review & Compliance: coordinate drawings and plan reviews for regional codes.
