Job summary

Stanford University is seeking skilled Plumbing/HVAC technicians to perform journey-level maintenance, repair, and preventive tasks across plumbing and HVAC systems on campus. You will handle diverse equipment, respond to quick-response calls, and work under supervision as part of a larger facilities operations team.

Minimum qualifications include journey-level knowledge and four years of trades experience; a valid California driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Journey level knowledge equivalent to four years of completion in an apprentice program or a combination of equivalent education and work experience.
• Four years of actual work in the plumber/HVAC trades.

Responsibilities

• Work under general supervision and perform maintenance tasks of substantial complexity in two or more trades.
• Work following prescribed procedures.
• Duties are assigned under the direction of a shop manager or lead and are performed with considerable independence.
• Work will be spot-checked during an assignment or upon its completion.
• Employees may work alone, or as a member of a crew (with or without lead responsibility)
