Job summary

Intertek in Plano, Texas is seeking a Sr. Staff Engineer – HVAC Performance to join our Electrical team. You will provide engineering expertise to evaluate conformance of products to standards, review final evaluation reports, resolving technical issues and directing technical training and development.

The role requires travel up to 25% and close collaboration with clients, accreditors, and AHJs. A BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and 10+ years in HVAC is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering required or equivalent.
• Experience in HVAC product design/testing and energy regulations.
• Strong ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and apply UL, CSA, AHRI, ASHRAE, and DOE requirements to equipment under testing (EUT).
• Develop and support testing, inspection and certification programs.
• Plan and control project progress and keep clients informed.
• Review project files for procedure compliance.
• Make technical decisions on standards applicability and test programs.
• Interact with clients, accreditors and AHJs to resolve issues.
• Lead and train junior staff and supervise project teams.
