Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer in California to lead the mechanical design process for commercial projects. You will oversee design through permitting and construction documentation, ensuring systems are compliant and optimized for real-world performance.

Qualifications

7+ years of experience in the commercial construction sector.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field (Required).
PE license (preferred).
Strong understanding of HVAC systems and installation standards.
Knowledge of California and local building codes.
Proficient in AutoCAD; Revit experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Technical Ownership: manage the mechanical design process through permit issuance and final construction docs.
Lead Design Execution: set design parameters, select systems, size equipment, define control strategies.
System Design and Troubleshooting: address air-side and hydronic systems challenges.
QA/QC: ensure designs meet standards and constructability.
Field Integration: support during construction with submittals, RFIs, site assessments.
Mentorship: guide junior engineers on project work and document quality.
