Job summary

University of Florida seeks an HVAC Mechanic IV to install, operate, repair, and preventively maintain pneumatic/electric HVAC and refrigeration equipment. You will troubleshoot field devices, controllers, and VFD networks, while leading and mentoring junior technicians.

The role requires NCCER Core, HVAC verifications, EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification, and a Florida driver license. Schedule is M-F with possible on-call duties, and a competitive hourly wage in line with

Qualifications

• Requires completion of 4 years HVAC apprenticeship or 4 years related experience.
• EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification required prior to hire.
• Certified/NCCER credentials and Florida driver license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, repair, and preventive maintain pneumatic/electric HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot field devices, controllers, sensors, and VFD/networked systems.
• Lead and mentor lower level technicians on projects and safety practices.
• Perform and oversee HVAC construction projects using blueprints and schematics.
