Job description

• High School Diploma or GED.


• Four (4) years of recent and verifiable experience working with heating, air conditioning and ventilation.

Preferred Qualifications:

• HVAC Repair and Maintenance Certification.


• EPA Refrigerant Transition and Recovery Program Universal Certificates.

• Maintains and repairs HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Maintains and repairs hydronic systems and electrical controls and equipment. Works on high and low voltage power.


• Maintains, repairs and operates energy management system. Operates and maintains digital controls and pneumatic controls.


• Coordinates work with other departments and sub-contractors.


• Maintains inventory of supplies and parts and requests additional items as necessary per job project.


• Drives College vehicles and operates golf carts and light trucks to retrieve/return supplies, equipment, tools, etc.


• Attends staff meetings to exchange information. Attends professional seminars and conferences to improve professional skills and maintain required licenses/certifications.


• Gathers, verifies, and maintains information to support periodic and special reports documenting activities and events for assigned area.


• Other duties and special projects as assigned and directed by the President or their designee.

• Must be able to relate and work with faculty and students individually and in groups.


• Must have knowledge and experience working on various HVAC equipment; knowledge of Energy Management Systems; ability to perform work involving set procedures.


• Must be able to exercise good judgement and communicate effectively both orally and in writing.


• Must have strong organizational skills and ability to work in a multi-task environment maintaining positive customer relations.


• Must supervise students in a lab environment.


• Must maintain, repair and handle tools and tools supplies, as well a demonstrate tool functions and safety procedures for students.


• Ability to use a computer, and understand communications, instructions, regulation and procedures.
