A leading educational institution in Gainesville, Florida, is seeking an experienced HVAC Mechanic IV responsible for installing, operating, and maintaining various air conditioning and refrigeration systems. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of HVAC experience, hold a valid EPA Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification, and possess strong troubleshooting skills. This full-time position requires emergency work and offers a salary range of $23.00 to $25.70 per hour, plus shift differentials for evening hours.

Qualifications

• Four years of appropriate experience in HVAC related work.
• Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Universal Refrigerant Recovery certification is required.
• Demonstrable working knowledge of blueprints and schematic drawings.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, repair, and maintain A/C and refrigeration equipment.
• Service and refurbish different types of A/C and refrigeration equipment.
• Troubleshoot field-connected devices and repair or replace parts as needed.

Skills

Troubleshooting pneumatic and electric/digital devices

Using up-to-date equipment and materials

Soldering refrigerant and water piping/tubing

Recovering refrigerant

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Completion of HVAC apprenticeship program or equivalent

Valid Florida driver license
