Job summary

The Town of Arlington, MA is seeking a Lead HVAC Technician to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and energy management systems across town buildings, including schools. You will troubleshoot electrical and mechanical systems and supervise a technician and contractors.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 5+ years in HVAC, MA licenses (608/Type I & II), EPA 608, a valid MA driver’s license, and Johnson Controls experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma; 5 years HVAC experience preferred.
• Valid MA Driver's License, Class D.
• EPA 608 License Type I, Type II.
• Massachusetts Refrigeration Technician’s License.
• Ability to read, interpret and diagnose problems from blueprints and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Performs preventive and corrective maintenance of HVAC, energy management, and refrigeration systems across town buildings.
• Ensures safe operation and code compliance in all work.
• Assists with new installations and maintenance planning.
• Maintains inventory and coordinates with vendors and contractors.
