Job Overview:
The Senior Installation Technician reports to the Installation Manager and is responsible for providing a high-quality customer experience by performing a wide range of HVAC activities for residential and small commercial customers. This role requires traits of decisiveness, initiative, judgment, integrity, dependability, and effective communication skills. The technician will interact with customers, other JC Warner technicians, the Installation Manager, the Estimator, and the Service Manager.
Key Duties:
- Assist the Installation Manager in equipment staging and job preparation.
- Oversee daily truck loading and replenishment.
- Size and draw ductwork accurately.
- Complete all required paperwork daily, including job packets and installation forms.
- Lead by example to ensure timely, efficient, and profitable job completion.
- Perform complex installation activities independently when required.
- Train team members on installation protocols and lessons learned.
- Conduct quality control inspections and monitor technical progress of new employees.
- Engage in point-of-work sales for IAQ services, unit components, and develop leads for sales staff.
- Maintain a professional appearance and attitude.
- Perform other duties as directed by the Installation Manager.
Qualifications:
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum of five years HVACR experience preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of line and low voltage systems.
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Handling License required.
- Ability to work from extension and step ladders.
- Strong communication skills, including reading and applying manufacturer instructions and customer interaction.
- Physical capability to perform duties in various weather conditions in Maryland.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in HVACR skills and sales techniques.
- Ability to operate all company fleet vehicles within 30 days of employment, insurable by JC Warner's insurance.
- Ability to work efficiently under time constraints, variable schedules, and customer demands.
- Proven diagnostic and job execution skills to benefit both customer and company.
