Job summary

Goochland-County is seeking an HVAC Senior Facilities Technician to maintain, repair, and install HVAC systems across county-owned buildings. You will supervise Facilities Technicians when the Assistant Director is unavailable and collaborate with county departments to ensure comfortable, safe operations.

The role requires experience in commercial HVAC and a commitment to safety, with possible on-call duties and energy-efficiency initiatives.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
HVAC trade certification preferred (EPA 608).
Technical/Vocational HVAC training highly desirable.

Responsibilities

Perform routine inspection, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on HVAC equipment in county buildings.
Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with codes and safety policies.
Coordinate with contractors for complex repairs or replacements.
Maintain accurate logs and asset records; manage work orders.
Assist planning and implementation of HVAC upgrades and energy-efficiency projects.
Respond to service requests in a timely and professional manner.
Supervise Facilities Technicians in the absence of the Assistant Director.
Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours maintenance.
Ensure proper handling of refrigerants and PPE usage.
