Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. is seeking a Master Facilities Technician – HVAC to operate, maintain, and repair HVAC and facility systems within a semiconductor manufacturing environment. You will support preventive maintenance, manage alarms, and ensure cleanroom conditions meet strict standards.

The role requires extensive HVAC expertise, BMS/EMS experience, and ability to read complex schematics and P&IDs. On-call shifts and collaboration with Facilities Engineers are part of the job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; technical school or associate degree preferred.
• 15+ years HVAC/facilities maintenance experience in controlled environments.
• MA Refrigeration Technician license CFC/EPA universal.
• Strong knowledge of commercial/industrial HVAC systems.
• Experience troubleshooting AHUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, pumps, fans, VFDs, and controls.
• Experience with BMS/EMS systems.
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, P&IDs, manuals.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC and facility systems in a semiconductor environment.
• Respond to equipment failures and support preventive and predictive maintenance.
• Maintain HVAC systems for cleanrooms and controlled environments.
• Monitor alarms via Building Management Systems (BMS) and Energy Management Systems (EMS).
• Document findings and maintain CMMS records.
• Work with cross-functional teams to resolve facility issues and support commissioning activities.
