Job summary

Cambridgeport Manufacturing — a sister company of Cox Engineering — seeks an experienced Drafter III to design custom air handling units (AHUs) and mentor junior drafters. You will lead complex KD and retrofit projects, maintain the design library, and collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing to ensure feasibility and quality.

Ideal candidates have 4–10 years in drafting, strong 3D CAD skills, and the ability to work independently within a team.

Qualifications

• 4 - 10 years of drafting or design experience.
• Advanced proficiency with 3D parametric CAD software and drawing standards.
• Experience training or mentoring other drafters.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Design, model, and detail complex air handling units, including KD and retrofit units.
• Review project specifications to meet industry and Cambridgeport standards.
• Own, maintain, and improve the design library and create new solutions.
• Train and mentor Drafter I and II team members.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Sales on scope and feasibility.
• Generate BOMs and drawing packages for production release.
• Perform other drafting-related duties as required.
