Job summary

Tech Air in Boston, MA is seeking an HVAC CAD Designer who will own from blank-page concept through to final set. You will size ductwork, route systems, select equipment, and ensure numbers are defensible under client scrutiny.

The role requires turning load data into a full air system, coordinating with trades, and delivering shop-ready construction documents. Travel for preconstruction meetings is expected.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years HVAC design experience on commercial/industrial projects.
• Background in sheet metal design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD for air system design and docs.
• Proficiency in Revit for air system modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design air systems from a blank page, sizing ducts, routing, and equipment.
• Translate load calculations into a complete air system with defensible numbers.
• Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, and architectural trades to avoid conflicts.
• Produce complete construction document sets for shop/builders.
• Collaborate with engineer of record and client through preconstruction, including travel as needed.
