Job summary

Cushing Terrell is actively seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design HVAC and plumbing systems, advance Revit modelling, and produce complete construction documents. You will work with Architects and Engineers from concept to completion, with site assessments and cost estimates to support project budgets.

The role requires 5+ years of experience, a PE license or ability to obtain by comity, and proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of job related experience.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (or ability to obtain by comity) in the state of the hiring office.
• Proficient in Autodesk MEP Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Outlook, Microsoft Office.
• Ability to design HVAC or Plumbing systems from start to finish with minimal guidance.
• Proficient in design of most industry standard HVAC systems (VAV, VRF, Heat Pumps, Package rooftop).
• Experience with hydronic piping, pump selection, duct sizing and fan selection.
• Experience with Heating and Cooling Load calculation software.
• Experience with Plumbing design and building codes.
• Experience writing specifications for mechanical projects.
• Ability to collaborate with peers and drafters to produce high quality construction documents.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team of Architects and Engineers to create quality construction documents for our clients.
• Develop initial concepts with or without collaboration of other engineers.
• Consult with client to determine needs and designs systems to meet budgets.
• Conduct site assessments and analyses to produce reports and recommendations for HVAC and plumbing improvements.
• Prepare preliminary budget and/or cost estimate for projects.
• Represent Cushing Terrell in project meetings and strategy sessions.
• Prepare scale drawings and contract documents for clients and contractors.
• Conduct on-site observation during construction to monitor plan compliance.

Education

Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
