Job summary

LONG Building Technologies seeks an Automation Controls Technician III to support commercial HVAC controls service, diagnostics, and programming. You will work with the Service Team to resolve faults, tune systems, and optimize operations across BAS platforms.

Strong technical and customer-facing skills are essential. Responsibilities include fault analysis, programming, calibration, and creating as-built documentation, with opportunities for on-call work and career growth in an energy-focused

Qualifications

• Associate degree from a tech school (or service experience equivalent)
• 5+ years of DDC/BAS control system construction or service experience
• 4 years of experience in a customer facing/customer support role
• 2+ years of DDC/BAS control system programming and integration experience
• Building Automation System knowledge including BACnet, Modbus, LON
• Experience with HVAC controls programming and integration

Responsibilities

• Utilize FDD platform to evaluate faults and advise actions to improve performance and energy efficiency.
• Analyze programming logic and sequences of operations to address faults and optimize SoO.
• Determine the best action based on FDD findings, BAS data, and system interactions.
• Program and tune setpoints per manufacturer recommendations and LONG standards.
• Calibrate and troubleshoot control systems to verify operation.
• Update drawings and submit redlines to engineers for as-built records.
• Instruct client personnel on operation, maintenance, and energy optimization of HVAC controls.
• Create pricing/quotes for self-performed small projects or upgrades.
• Perform preventive maintenance and on-call support as needed.
