Job summary

Albireo Energy seeks a Senior HVAC Controls Engineer to lead programming of HVAC and utilities sequences and to support field technicians. The role is onsite in the Greater Boston Area with opportunities for remote collaboration as needed.

You will review project docs, develop sequences of operation, and perform startup/commissioning of large systems such as AHUs and chiller plants. A relevant engineering degree and strong IT skills are required.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from an accredited college or university.
• Experience with building automation / PLC programming (function block preferred) or other programming languages (e.g. Python, SQL).
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Review of project specifications, drawings, and project documents to understand project intent.
• Breakdown scope of work into manageable segments and communicate to Project/Engineering Managers.
• Attend and record meeting minutes from software and graphics review meetings with customers and contractors.
• Create and route RFI documentation to Systems Engineer, Project Manager, and Engineering Manager.
• Follow sequence of operations per project documents and develop engineered sequences and commissioning documents.
• Startup and commissioning of large systems (AHUs, chillers) including workstation/server/network setup.
• Assist with project estimating, scope development, and basic design for turnkey projects.
• Software programming of HVAC/utility sequences and commissioning procedures.
• Configure IP and RS-485 networks; BACnet MSTP/IP experience preferred.
