Job summary

BR+A Consulting Engineers seeks an HVAC Systems Control Specialist for our Boston, MA office. The ideal candidate will take ownership of assignments, work independently or with project teams, and bring strong organization and initiative.

Responsibilities include QA reviews of mechanical and BAS projects, ensuring code compliance, and improving the HVAC library and templates. A Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 10–15 years of experience, with a PE license, are required for full-time

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
PE License is required.
10–15 years of relevant experience.
Experience with M/E/P/FP and building automation systems.

Responsibilities

Provide quality assurance reviews of Mechanical Systems and Building Automation Systems and feedback on improvements.
Confirm that designs meet current code requirements.
Identify errors and redraw items correctly.
Improve the level of detail and accuracy of the plans and specs.
Coordinate with other disciplines for QC correspondence, emails, and calculations.
Improve the HVAC BAS library and specs to fix common errors.
Collaborate with team to improve processes.
Lead QC training to keep staff up to date on procedures.
Meet with design teams to review comments.
Create HVAC templates for general use and add systems to the BAS library.
