Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a High Voltage Test Engineer - Transformers based in Earth City, Missouri. You will operate mobile high voltage test equipment, perform advanced electrical tests on transformer assets, analyze results, and support field service activities to ensure reliable power delivery.

You will work closely with customers and engineering teams, apply IEEE/IEC/NEMA standards, prepare technical reports, and travel 40-50% if based Earth City, MO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with five+ years of experience, or a combination of studies and ten years+ transformer experience.
• Experience performing transformer testing and supporting field service operations.
• Knowledge of IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards.
• Experience using MS Office 365 and preparing technical reports.
• Experience with low voltage tests (winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, power factor) preferred.
• Candidate must have work authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform applied voltage, induced voltage, partial discharge localization, and temperature rise testing.
• Investigate sources of partial discharge and develop corrective action plans.
• Analyze electrical test data and oil DGA results.
• Calibrate testing equipment and maintain the mobile test system.
• Prepare technical reports and test plans for proposals.
• Provide technical support to field crews and customers.
