Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking a High Voltage Test Engineer to join our Transformer Services US engineering team. This role involves performing high voltage tests at customer sites and managing travel between 40% and 60%.

You will set up mobile test trailers, run a variety of HV tests, and deliver precise reports to customers. Applicants should have a engineering degree with 5+ years of transformer experience or 10+ years in the field, and familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards.

• Knowledge of industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEMA).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and technical report compilation.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate a mobile high voltage test trailer system.
• Perform tests such as applied, induced voltage, PD localization, and temperature rise.
• Conduct low voltage testing, including winding resistance, turns ratio, excitation, and power factor.
• Analyze electrical testing results and calibrate test equipment.
• Communicate effectively with customers and prepare detailed test reports.
• Create test plans to support the proposal team.
• Provide technical support to field crews and review transformer oil test results.

• Work authorization to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
• Willingness to travel. If based Earth City, MO travel expectations are 40%-50%, if based remote, travel expectations between 50%-60%.
• Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.

Pay Disclosure (California Applicants Only)

The total base pay range for the High Voltage Test Engineer position is $105,800 - $158,600. This pay scale reflects the amount the company reasonably expects to offer for this role in California, in accordance with California Labor Code.
