Job summary

ISG Inc in Bloomington, MN seeks a Senior Substation Relay & Controls Engineer to lead protection and control system design for high‑voltage substations. You will develop and review one-line/three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, BOMs, and equipment lists while mentoring junior staff and ensuring compliance with IEEE and NESC standards.

The role supports ISG’s Energy Business Unit and its nationwide client base.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of consulting or substation engineering and design experience.
• Ohio PE License preferred; may be working towards certification.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel for site visits and client meetings.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of protection and control systems for high‑voltage substations.
• Develop and review one-line and three-line diagrams, schematics, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers; review their work and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with substation physical, civil, and structural teams and clients.
• Ensure designs meet IEEE, NESC, and client standards; drive process improvements.
• Present solutions to clients and support project milestones and schedules.
