Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced Project Director/Manager to lead multi-discipline teams on high voltage transmission projects and substations. You will oversee engineering design, procurement and project controls, guiding a cross-functional group through EPC delivery while maintaining scope, cost and schedule.

Qualifications

• BS preferably from an ABET-accredited program.
• Specific experience in Project Management of Utility Transmission, Substation or Energy Projects.
• Knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEC, IEEE and ANSI.
• 10+ years of experience in design engineering and/or management of high voltage utility projects.
• Experience with EPC, Owners Engineer, Traditional or Joint Ventures contracts.
• Experience as firm/client liaison in a support, engineer or management role.
• Excellent written and verbal communications; experience in writing proposals.
• Experience in cost allocation and control, estimating, proposal preparation, risk assessment programs.

Responsibilities

• Manage project teams of engineers, designers, estimators, controls and scheduling professionals.
• Direct the team lead in coordinating detailed design phases for electrical engineering work.
• Coordinate and manage work by civil, structural, and transmission teams.
• Lead efforts to ensure on-time, high-quality and within-budget project delivery.
• Identify scope changes and coordinate client approvals.
• Ensure design activities comply with specifications, codes, and client requirements.
• Collaborate with staff locally and nationwide.
• Prepare reports and studies presenting technical information clearly.
