CDM Smith is seeking a Senior Substation Protection & Control Engineer to provide technical and organizational leadership within our Power and Energy practice. You will lead, grow, and mentor a team of engineers working on high-voltage protection projects.
The role emphasizes protecting and controlling systems, SCADA integration, and client-focused project delivery, with responsibilities spanning studies, relays, and startup activities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or related field.
- Professional Engineer license preferred or required per region.
- 15 years of related experience in protection and control engineering.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, delivery, and technical execution of high-voltage substation protection and control projects.
- Serve as technical authority for protective relaying, control systems, SCADA integration, automation, and substation communications.
- Develop, review and approve protection and control deliverables including schematics and relay settings.
- Lead power system studies, protection coordination, equipment selection and related analyses.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for project delivery, commissioning, testing, and startup activities.
