Job summary

RMS Energy Co, LLC is seeking Senior Field Service Technicians to lead testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting across power plants, substations, and industrial facilities. You will mentor junior technicians and manage field crews while working with high voltage equipment in challenging environments.

The role requires 7–10+ years in the power industry, strong substation knowledge, and hands-on testing with protective relays and complex systems. Travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.

Qualifications

• 7–10+ years hands-on experience in the power industry
• Strong knowledge of substation equipment, MV/HV breakers, and electrical system troubleshooting
• Proficient with Power DB, Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams
• Familiar with OSHA, NETA standards, and electrical safety procedures
• Prior experience leading crews and mentoring field technicians
• Ability to develop and execute test plans for complex upgrades and installations
• Comfortable managing shifting priorities and working with minimal supervision

Responsibilities

• Lead testing, commissioning, and maintenance on LV–HV equipment (480V–600kV)
• Develop test plans and execute commissioning procedures for new or upgraded systems
• Mentor and supervise field crews; ensure safety, quality, and compliance
• Complete reports, test results, and job documentation using Power DB and other platforms
• Interface with customers to provide updates, gather requirements, and ensure satisfaction
• Follow PPE usage protocols and safety rules on job sites
• Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues independently
• Support emergency response and shutdown/start-up projects
