Job summary

Caterpillar is seeking a High Voltage Electrical Systems Engineer to drive the design and integration of electrified powertrains. This role will develop HV architectures, design harnesses, and coordinate with suppliers to advance rapid electrification initiatives on electrified machines.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, perform validations, and ensure compliance with safety standards while relocating to the Clayton, NC area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, mechanical, computer, or automotive engineering.
• Experience integrating high-voltage electrical systems for electrified machines.
• Proven troubleshooting, commissioning, and validation on prototype machines.
• Commitment to electrical safety and high-voltage standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop HV electrical system architectures for electrified platforms.
• Design high-voltage cables and harnesses, including routing and sizing.
• Integrate power sources, drivetrains, and accessories into test machines.
• Support design reviews, testing, risk assessments, and validation.
• Collaborate with suppliers and global teams to resolve issues.
• Document findings and communicate project outcomes.
