Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with PE licensure to lead complex investigations and design projects. You will guide teams on electrical safety, power systems, and construction administration across diverse facilities.

The role emphasizes client relationship skills, expert testimony, and collaborative development of project proposals. A strong track record in design/build or related contracts is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required; multiple state licenses preferred.
• 15+ years of consulting design engineering experience with leading projects.

Responsibilities

• Investigates electrical shock and electrocution hazards, equipment failures, design errors and omissions, construction defects, contractor disputes, and electrical safety issues.
• Demonstrates conceptual understanding of high voltage power systems and grounding and short circuit analysis.
• Applies NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and OSHA standards to project work.
• Evaluates and selects equipment including transformers, generators, switchgear, relays, and control systems.
• Manages client projects including design, construction administration, permitting, and occupancy coordination.
• Reviews contract language defining requirements for owners, engineers, and contractors.
• Responds to RFPs, leads proposal writing, and participates in interviews.
• Provides expert testimony in deposition and trial.
• Mentors junior engineers and supports their professional development.
• Collaborates with Business Development to identify potential clients and build the client base.
