Job summary

Engineering Systems Inc. (ESi) seeks a seasoned Electrical Engineering consultant to lead complex investigations, design reviews, and failure analyses for major projects.

You will manage client relationships, mentor junior engineers, and contribute to proposal efforts while ensuring compliance with NEC/NFPA/IEEE/OSHA standards. The role requires a PE license, 15+ years of experience, and the ability to coordinate design and construction activities across multiple markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering required.
• Master's or Ph.D. preferred; P.E. licensed with NCEES record and multiple state licenses preferred.
• 15+ years of experience as a consulting design engineer with project delivery and construction administration.
• Experience sealing drawings and knowledge of permitting, inspections, CO.
• Experience as engineer of record for significant projects; experience with design/bid/build, design/build, and engineer/procure/construction.

Responsibilities

• Investigates electrical shock and equipment failures across projects.
• Applies knowledge of high voltage systems and grounding, short circuit analysis.
• Evaluates NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, OSHA standards compliance.
• Selects equipment such as power transformers, generators, switchgear, relaying packages.
• Manages client projects from design to permit coordination and CO.
• Reviews contract language for owners, engineers, and contractors.
• Responds to RFPs, leads proposal writing, and participates in interviews.
• Provides expert testimony in deposition and trial.
• Mentors junior engineers and supports their development.
• Collaborates with Business Development to identify potential clients.
