Job summary

AES is seeking a dynamic Senior HV CAD Designer to support high voltage substation and transmission design, with additional PV and BESS land development input. Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher in CAD, drafting, engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of proven drafting/design experience, including HV substation or transmission CAD design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Office suite; strong electrical drawing knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop up to 30% substation packages in AutoCAD/Bluebeam for 35kV–500kV facilities.
• Create single line diagrams, layouts, and elevations for substations and transmission lines.
• Support PV and BESS land development with site plans and diagrams.
• Collaborate with project teams and stakeholders to ensure design quality and standards.
• Develop and maintain CAD standards, templates, and BOM data.
