Overview

The Human Resources Manager oversees various HR functions, including filling hourly positions promptly, ensuring accurate paperwork, enforcing company policies, and assisting with benefits and workers’ compensation duties.

Responsibilities
  1. Administer insurance benefits, explain coverage, assist with enrollment, and answer related questions.
  2. Compile review lists and distribute to departments.
  3. Prepare and distribute turnover reports.
  4. Enter payroll data and updates.
  5. Conduct prescreening interviews.
  6. Manage unemployment claims and logs.
  7. Maintain logs for new hires, terminations, transfers, and promotions.
  8. Audit hours worked for benefits eligibility.
  9. Gather wage survey data.
  10. Monitor Leave of Absence and Workers’ Compensation claims, including injury reports.
  11. Respond to employee inquiries about 401K, vacations, and benefits.
  12. Maintain employee request logs for room nights and other amenities.
  13. Coordinate recruitment advertising and process termination paperwork.
  14. Maintain advertising logs.
  15. Obtain certification for HR training modules.
  16. Ensure compliance with HR and Loss Prevention SOPs.
  17. Participate in the Hotel Enrichment Committee.
  18. Assist with hotel orientation, explaining benefits and conducting property tours.
  19. Create content for the property newsletter.
  20. Assist with employee events and special projects.
  21. Coordinate the Travel Reduction Program and conduct transportation surveys.
  22. Maintain First Aid logs.
Qualifications
  • At least 1 year of progressive HR experience in a hotel or related industry.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Relevant college coursework helpful.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to work long hours sometimes.
  • Experience in a union environment required.

Physical requirements include sedentary work with occasional lifting of up to 10 pounds. Candidates should maintain a friendly demeanor, communicate effectively, multitask, and participate in required meetings and training. Attendance, grooming, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills are essential. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
