We’re looking for a proactive, detail-oriented, and customer-focused Senior Human Resources Coordinator to join our human resources team. This role is based in our state-of-the-art office in Santa Monica, CA.
What You'll Do:
No two days are the same, but in this diverse role, you’ll take on a variety of responsibilities, including:
- Perform day-to-day HR support by providing excellent, professional, and responsive customer service to employees, leadership, and applicants.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries, providing guidance and support on company policies and procedures.
- Leverage your knowledge of our cloud-based HRIS (Oracle) to assist employees and managers with HRIS modules, including self-service, HCM, recruiting, onboarding, time and attendance, performance, and compensation.
- Support the benefits administration process, staying current on company benefits plans and assisting with Open Enrollment, employee communication, and audits.
- Respond to unemployment claims, workers' compensation claims, and employment verifications.
- Support the performance review process, ensuring feedback is documented and aligned with company goals.
- Track, remind, and assist in coordinating employee training, contributing to the growth of our team’s skill set.
- Support the recruitment process, e.g., posting jobs in ATS, preparing offer letters and pre-employment paperwork, conducting background checks, etc.
- Lead the new hire onboarding process, including conducting new hire orientations and ensuring required paperwork is compliant and complete.
- Administer leaves of absence according to company policy and applicable laws, including FMLA.
- Contribute to employee engagement programs and initiatives aimed at fostering a positive workplace culture.
- Take on various HR-related projects as needed, contributing to the ongoing success of the department.
- Prepare a variety of human resources reports and assist with the development of forms and documents for improved practices.
Required qualifications:
- Minimum of five years' human resources experience in a generalist HR role
- Bachelor's degree
- Solid understanding of federal, multi-state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Proven track record of applying HR knowledge, skills, and judgment in various situations.
- Experience working with a cloud-based HRIS
- Intermediate to advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels, both verbally and in writing
- A high level of discretion and the ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and sound judgment.
- A positive, results-driven attitude and a commitment to accuracy and efficiency
- Strong organizational and time management skills with keen attention to detail
- Ability to independently plan, organize, and prioritize workload
- Previous experience in entertainment, sports, or broadcast media is a plus
