Purpose

Support human resource functions for the College of Liberal Arts and collaborate with team members to provide effective HR support for the college.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with HR Director, and Central HR in ensuring I-9 compliance across the college. Oversee I-9 centralization, serving as point of contact for departmental questions and troubleshooting. Run I-9 reports and optimize data to share with department contacts.
  • Manage centralized HR e-mail through triage of issues, timely responsiveness, and escalation of issues as necessary. Work with staff and university central offices to address and resolve issues by providing direct assistance to them when able to and working with the team to resolve issues as they arise. Serve as primary contact for college and facilitate effective channels of communication on behalf of HR team. Help track work in progress, provide follow up on action items, and improve business processes and data collection, including developing tools to collect, communicate, and disseminate information.
  • Review and approve Workday Business Processes (BPs) related to students and staff. Ensure that all transactions are in compliance with the rules and regulations of the University. Assist college with creating BPs related to office student hiring, onboarding, time-reporting, and separating. Provide additional support to HR team, as needed, for Workday business processes and/or reporting, and aiding the college into providing comprehensive Workday support.
  • Support the Director, CoLA HR, and Finance teams with efforts to implement Workday best practices for the college. Oversee documentation and publication of best practices and college-specific procedures. Serve as a resource for training and learning opportunities for new and continuing Liberal Arts staff. Responsible for coordinating and administering student human resources support for the College of Liberal Arts.
  • Organize human resources activities for recruitment and hiring of new staff, including management of recruitment documentation. Manage and complete separations and off-boarding for employees. Assist with implementation of HR policies and procedures, and employee inquiries.
  • Prepare college-wide compliance reports, distribute to target audiences, and monitor results.
  • Serve as a liaison for the college at campus wide meetings including sharing information with the college. Coordinate and/or lead training sessions and open labs for CoLA staff. Provide additional administrative support including special projects, and other duties assigned.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree with at least five years of related experience. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills with proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management and respond to faculty and staff and students tactfully, clearly and concisely. Demonstrated history of reliable and regular work attendance. Ability to work effectively as a team, or independently, as required. Ability to research policy questions and find qualitative answers. Professional and positive demeanor. Demonstrated record of excellent customer service. Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality around restricted and sensitive information and records. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office programs. A self-starter with the ability to work efficiently and flexibly in a fast-paced environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field with more than five years of experience in human resource functions. Experience working in higher education or related fields. Knowledge of UT's policies and procedures. High level of proficiency with Workday, Qualtrics, Smartsheet, Adobe Acrobat, and comfortable learning new software.

Salary Range

$57,000 + depending on qualifications
