Job summary

Exponent is seeking a Managing Scientist for its Human Factors Practice to be based in Farmington Hills, MI. The role involves leading multidisciplinary teams to analyze human factors, safety management, and risk communication across consumer products, electronics, and environmental contexts.

You will manage projects, develop client relationships, publish findings, and contribute to developing the practice while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Industrial Engineering, Experimental, Computational, Developmental or Cognitive Psychology, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Neuroscience, or related field
• At least five years of experience in litigation support, forensics consulting, health and safety investigation, or relevant field
• Undergraduate degree in psychology, engineering, or related discipline is a plus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

• Manage a range of consulting activities analyzing human perceptual, cognitive, and response capabilities and limitations in accidents and the prevention of accidents
• Conduct hands-on inspections and analyzing human performance to investigate accidents and injuries
• Lead multi-disciplinary projects, providing case management, data processing, and other project support
• Conduct research to obtain and review technical data, scientific literature, and standards
• Develop client contacts and prepare written and oral summaries of human factors analyses
• Participate in the design and evaluation of warnings and safety information
