Johnson & Johnson MedTech is recruiting a Senior Human Factors Engineer to lead HF activities for the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System. This role will collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality teams to ensure user-centric design and safe, effective products.

You will deliver HF strategies across product lines, mentor engineers, and guide third-party contractors. A strong background in medical device development and regulatory standards is required, with up to 20% travel

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years in human factors/usability engineering for medical devices.
Proficient in HF process, research, risk assessment, user interface requirements, and regulatory submissions.
Ability to negotiate with stakeholders and provide disposition feedback for risk management documentation.
Experience in planning, executing, documenting, and reporting usability testing, including moderation.

Responsibilities

Support the development and execution of human factors and usability strategies from concept through post-market support.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, evaluate, and guide solutions with user impact in mind.
Prepare usable engineering documents: task analyses, usability risk assessments, use specs, test reports and root cause analyses.
Mentor other engineers and supervise third-party contractors.
