Johnson & Johnson MedTech is seeking a Senior Human Factors Engineer to lead HF efforts for the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System in Cincinnati, OH. You will partner with R&D, Regulatory, and Quality to deliver user-centered design and rigorous usability validation.

You will mentor colleagues, manage usability studies, and advance HF processes across the program, ensuring compliance with IEC 62366 and FDA guidance while enabling safe, effective medical device use.

Qualifications

• Bachelor level degree in Human Factors Engineering, Usability, Cognitive Science, Anthropology or Biomedical Engineering.
• Minimum five years of human factors/usability engineering experience in medical devices.
• Fluency in English, written and verbal, with regulatory and risk management familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Lead human factors activities for the OTTAVA Robotic Surgical System and guide HF practices.
• Develop and execute usability strategies from concept through post-market support.
• Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Quality teams to align user needs with development roadmap.
• Prepare usability documents: task analyses, risk assessments, use specs, test reports, root cause analyses.
• Mentor engineers and supervise third-party contractors; facilitate multi-functional decisions.
