Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital is seeking an experienced Imaging Service Engineer to join the in-house Health Technology Management team. You will support advanced imaging equipment, collaborate with clinicians and HTM staff, and ensure safe, reliable operation without travel to customer sites.

You will perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and repairs, mentor junior staff, and manage vendor relations while contributing to a culture of safety and quality in pediatric care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in engineering or equivalent experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
• Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently test imaging systems to identify failed components using advanced diagnostic devices.
• Collaborate with Information Services and other support departments to manage integrated imaging systems.
• Ensure compliance with medical device regulations and hospital policies.
• Document all service actions and maintain required records.
• Troubleshoot complex imaging devices and coordinate with internal staff and vendors.
• Manage vendors and ensure engagement compliance with policies.
• Lead special tasks such as technology conversions and hardware/software upgrades.
• Mentor junior HTM staff and lead project teams when appropriate.
• Maintain knowledge through professional activities and in-service education.
