Job description

We're seeking an experienced imaging service engineer to join our in-house Health Technology Management team, supporting the advanced imaging technologies that make exceptional patient care possible.

If you've spent your career supporting imaging systems for an OEM or independent service organization, you'll find a different kind of opportunity here. Instead of traveling between customer sites, you'll become an integral member of a dedicated hospital team, working alongside HTM professionals, technologists, and clinical staff to ensure our imaging systems operate safely and reliably.

This role offers the opportunity to develop deep expertise in the equipment you support, build lasting relationships with the clinicians who depend on it, and see firsthand how your technical knowledge directly contributes to the care of children with some of the most complex medical conditions in the world. If you're looking for a position that combines challenging technical work with greater stability, collaboration, and purpose, we'd love to hear from you. This is where you can build a career that stays close to home.

Position Summary

Performs preventive maintenance, repair, modification, and calibration of complex imaging equipment to ensure compliance with hospital, departmental and governmental quality and safety standards for our Radiology Team. Conducts periodic equipment inspections and prepares and maintains required records. Mentors junior staff in these responsibilities, and manages vendors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently performs testing of imaging equipment systems or multi-systems to identify failed components, utilizing advanced diagnostic devices, such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, test phantoms, and specialized computer software. Communicates with manufacturers and designs and constructs electronic or mechanical devices to correct equipment problems, as directed.
  • Works collaboratively with Information Services Department and other support service departments to manage integrated imaging systems
  • Understands medical device regulation and ensures assigned medical devices are managed in compliance with those regulations.
  • Documents all service actions and complies with documentation guidelines and metrics defined in department policy.
  • Actively engages in troubleshooting complex imaging medical devices/integrated systems. Collaboration includes working directly with internal Hospital staff as well as other service providers.
  • Manages vendors that serve the Hospital and medical devices including device manufacturers and third party vendors. Appropriately determines vendor engagement and ensures that all vendors are complying with department and hospital policy and regulation.
  • Independently performs special tasks and projects such as technology conversions, hardware/software upgrades, etc
  • Mentors junior members of Health Technology Management (HTM) in technology, clinical care units, and customer service. May lead a team of technical staff in projects and tasks
  • Maintains knowledge of current imaging equipment operation, diagnostic devices and methods, and safety and performance standards through participation in professional organizations and attendance at in-service and continuing education programs. Conducts in-service programs and provides instruction to technical personnel on care and operation of imaging and associated equipment.
