Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a passionate HSE Manager to support Life Sciences North America (LSNA) on a Cary, NC project. You will provide HSE leadership on the night shift, partner with project management, and drive zero‑injury performance while safeguarding client operations.

You will establish HSE plans, lead incident investigations, and ensure regulatory compliance across federal, state, and local agencies. Travel is anticipated within the mid‑Atlantic US region as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, industrial hygiene, engineering or a related field, or equivalent years of experience in lieu of a degree
• Professional HSE certification preferred
• At least 8 years of construction HSE experience managing employees and supporting subcontractor safe work
• OSHA 30‑hour construction training
• Experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and related outreach and coaching
• Working knowledge of applicable regulatory compliance and all federal, state and local agency requirements

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE support and leadership on the night shift for a Cary/Wilson, NC project
• Lead HSE excellence and contribute to strategies to protect workers and ensure business continuity
• Maintain communication with LOB HSE Director, project and construction teams to ensure alignment
• Lead incident notification, investigation and reporting processes and support return‑to‑work
• Develop project‑specific HSE plans and review subcontractor hazard assessments
• Participate in operational readiness reviews and governance oversight
