Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Clayton, NC is seeking an Entry Level HSE Professional to support the Life Sciences North America portfolio on a pharmaceutical project.

You will assist the Project HSE Manager to promote health, safety and environmental excellence and help protect workers and business continuity. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, 0–2 years of construction HSE experience, and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related majors within Environmental Health and Safety, construction site safety and/or risk mitigation.
  • 0-2 years of construction HSE experience and in managing/supporting subcontractor safe work.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Support HSE leadership to drive project HSE excellence and ensure no worker injuries or negative impacts to client business continuity.
  • Provide interpretation, training, technical review and governance to ensure alignment with Jacobs HSE program.
  • Establish relationships with client and project stakeholders to champion best practices and continuous improvement.

Your impact

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Entry Level HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) Professional to support the Life Sciences North America (LSNA) project portfolio.

As part of our team, in this initial remit you will provide HSE support and leadership to a pharmaceutical project in Clayton. NC. You will be directly supporting the Project HSE Manager to lead HSE excellence and deliver a project that ensures no worker injuries or negative impacts to our client’s business continuity. We’ll ask you to support Beyond Zero performance that is inclusive of the Line of Business’ (LOB) vision and strategic plans as well as provide overall leadership, management and direction to the team and client assigned.

We’ll rely on you to take personal ownership and responsibility for protecting people from harm and for driving strategies and performance while supporting continuous improvement. You’ll own and maintain open communication with the HSE Manager as well as peer HSE team members to provide technical resources guidance, to ensure alignment and to ensure consistent implementation of HSE process tools that support project HSE strategic plans and objectives

By establishing working relationships, you’ll provide visible support and leadership to all client and project stakeholders by providing interpretation, training, technical review and support, regulatory guidance, and governance oversight to ensure alignment and consistent implementation of the Jacobs HSE program. This key position will be the champion for driving best practices and continuous improvement efforts for positive motivation, employee development and resource planning that meet or exceeds overall HSE business goals and objectives

Future project assignments may require additional travel within the US, and potentially North America.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other related majors within Environmental Health and Safety, construction site safety and/or risk mitigation
  • 0-2 years of construction HSE experience and in managing/supporting subcontractor safe work
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

This role is not eligible to candidates who require sponsorship now or in the future.

Ideally you will also have:

  • Previous experience in an HSE role (internship or full-time)
  • Familiarity with HSE regulations and standards
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety
  • OSHA 510
  • Experience delivering safety training, toolbox talks, and/or similar "outreach" and coaching
  • Experience in Life Sciences construction projects
Posted Salary Range: Minimum

60,000.00

Posted Salary Range: Upper

76,450.00

The base salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $76,450.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
