Job summary

Ramboll is seeking a Project HSE Manager to lead health, safety, and environmental management on major EPC/EPCM projects in the Americas. This role ensures HSE strategies, budgets, resources, and contractual alignment across the project lifecycle.

The role integrates HSE requirements into contracts, conducts risk assessments and JHAs, mentors teams, and reports on metrics. Collaboration with clients, regulators, and Ramboll’s Energy HSEQ group is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of site-based HSE experience on EPC projects, including 5+ years within engineering consultancy environments.
• Proven Project HSE Management experience supporting EPC/EPCM projects across multiple phases of delivery.
• Expertise in HSE planning, tender support, risk assessment, budgeting, resource planning, and development of project HSE deliverables.
• Strong knowledge of contractor management, procurement processes, contract HSE requirements, and HSE performance management through KPIs, audits, and reporting.
• Solid understanding of U.S. HSE regulations (OSHA 1910/1926), ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards, and relevant certifications such as CSP, NEBOSH, CRSP, or equivalent.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence clients, contractors, project teams, and leadership; international project experience and travel flexibility are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the Project HSE Manager for major EPC, EPCM, and other project delivery models, providing leadership throughout the full project lifecycle.
• Integrate HSE requirements, risks, resources, and cost considerations into project planning, budgeting, and decision-making.
• Embed HSE requirements into contracts, procurement packages, contractor scopes, and project execution plans.
• Lead hazard identification, risk assessments, JHAs, and risk mitigation activities to proactively manage project risks.
• Ensure HSE is incorporated into design reviews, risk workshops, governance processes, and operational decision-making.
• Monitor contractor and supplier HSE performance, ensuring compliance and escalating significant risks or deficiencies as needed.
• Manage and mentor project HSE teams, including resource planning, technical guidance, and competency development.
• Develop HSE performance metrics, dashboards, reporting systems, training programs, and safety initiatives to drive continuous improvement.
• Lead audits, inspections, incident investigations, assurance activities, and corrective action programs to ensure compliance and effective close-out.
• Act as the primary HSE liaison for clients, contractors, regulators, and senior leadership while supporting organizational HSEQ programs, audits, safety culture, and tender development.
