Job summary

The Walsh Group, Walsh Construction & Archer Western in Columbus, OH is seeking a Sr. HSE Manager to lead health, safety and environmental processes across projects.

You will implement comprehensive EHS programs, oversee EHS staff, coordinate with project managers, train personnel, and maintain records. This role requires travel and a strong leadership mindset to manage risk, ensure compliance, and drive safety excellence across the water division.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
• Minimum 7 years of experience on major construction projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and prioritization and time management.
• Some travel required.
• Ability to stand, walk, sit and climb stairs or ladders.

Responsibilities

• Implements comprehensive EHS processes for all assigned projects, adhering to corporate, divisional, and regional EHS programs.
• Oversees one or more HSE Managers and collaborates with the Project Manager to develop site-specific EHS plans.
• Coordinates subcontractor EHS protocols and manages project EHS programs with vendors and owner personnel.
• Leads investigations and ensures corrective actions are documented and implemented.
• Provides weekly EHS updates and coordinates reports per established procedures.
