Job summary

Seppic, an Air Liquide Healthcare company, seeks an HSE Manager for the Richmond, VA site. You will lead Health, Safety, and Environmental functions, aligning with corporate IMS and PSM standards, and collaborating with France-based teams while guiding local regulatory compliance and environmental permits.

The role demands 8+ years in HSE, strong communication, and proven ability to drive CAPA, training, and audits within a chemical/pharma environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience as an HSE professional.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong relationship builder with site employees, external stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and corporate leadership; collaborate with colleagues in France.
• Knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations; experience with state and local agencies.
• DOT hazardous waste, IMDG, IATA certification.
• Experience in Chemical/Pharma manufacturing environment.
• Experience working in a PSM regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• PSM Chair: lead PSM committee and track actions.
• Oversee the Management of Change (MOC) for matters outside of quality.
• Coordinate PHA revalidations and track actions.
• Investigate incidents using root cause analysis and drive CAPA; report through appropriate channels.
• Ensure emergency response capabilities and maintain the Emergency Action Plan (EAP).
• Partner with local HAZMAT response agencies and fire departments.
• Conduct and evaluate site drills.
• IMS owner: ensure site operations comply with corporate framework; translate directives into procedures.
• Environmental: manage permits, air emissions, wastewater, and waste; ensure metrics are documented.
• Leadership: foster a proactive safety culture; train and mentor staff; oversee audits/inspections.
