Job summary

Rio Tinto Kennecott is seeking a Senior Advisor - Health, Safety & Environment to provide trusted leadership, technical guidance, and practical HSE support to operations, maintenance, project and technical teams at the Kennecott Smelter.

You will focus on Hot Metals, Anodes and Material Handling, strengthening performance, meeting regulatory and company requirements, and driving continuous risk improvement through field coaching, training and collaborative problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience in health, safety and environment within mining, construction, manufacturing or another complex industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of applicable HSE regulations, management systems and risk management practices.

Responsibilities

• Partner with leaders to implement HSE programs in line with regulations and Rio Tinto standards.
• Facilitate hazard identification, risk assessments and practical controls.
• Coach leaders to strengthen HSE systems, hazard recognition and safety leadership.
• Lead or support HSE investigations, remedial plans and corrective actions.
• Analyze HSE performance data and field insights to identify trends and priorities.
• Develop and implement improvement initiatives across the HSE risk profile.
