Job summary

ShopMy is seeking a Director, HR Business Partner in New York, NY to serve as the strategic right-hand to our VP, People Experience & Operations. You’ll partner across the business to shape people strategy, drive performance, and elevate the function as we scale.

You’ll lead talent density initiatives, coach managers, and design programs that connect business outcomes with people decisions. This is a hands-on role with potential to grow a small team in a fast-moving creator commerce company.

Qualifications

• 8-12 years of progressive HR experience with meaningful time as a HRBP or strategic HR partner at a high-growth tech or startup company.
• Proven track record as a trusted advisor to leaders and shaping people strategy.
• Tal­ent density development and proactive capability to raise the bar.
• Strong employee relations background with discretion and rigor.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for executives and ICs.
• Strong follow-through and organizational rigor in managing multiple priorities.
• Hands-on experience with performance management cycles and coaching managers.
• Exceptional EQ and trust-building with cross-functional partners.
• Data-driven and able to interpret people data to drive decisions.
• Based in NYC and comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary HR partner across ShopMy’s teams and guide employees and managers through development, feedback, and complex situations.
• Be a trusted thought partner to the VP of People Experience & Operations, shaping people strategy and co-owning the function’s growth.
• Build and run programs, coaching frameworks, and tools to improve manager effectiveness across the org.
• Anchor performance management activities, including annual reviews and calibrations, with the VP of People Experience and Operations.
• Collaborate with leaders on talent density, role design, and early interventions for gaps in performance or capability.
• Navigate employee relations, investigations, PIPs, and exits with sound judgment and documentation.
• Identify and source learning and development opportunities to close organizational gaps.
• Contribute to compensation and org design discussions with leadership and Finance.
